relationships... strong like steel?

A fence in Junju

We all know that the "Man of steel" wasn't invincible. No matter how strong you are, there is always something that can break you down and show you that you are weak. No matter how strong you think something is, it can be broken.

Sometimes we need a good reminder to humble ourselves and realize that things aren't as strong as we think.

Everything needs attention and care to stay strong. It could be your relationships, health, or even your mind. We need to keep the rust away. Keep it from eating away at the strong parts till it's beyond repair.

A trip to my eldest Uncle's house near my father's hometown gave me a chance to get away from the busy work life and to do some family things. Although it was a very short trip, it was good as I got to see some family as well as talk with my sister on the bus ride and at night.

Family relationships need maintenance, but sometimes I take them for granted. A picture to show me that relationships can sometimes fail if neglected. I hope my relationships don't turn out like that fence.

That is a brilliant analogy! Wow! And such a great reminder that yes, relationships take effort to keep them strong. I'm glad you've realized that and helped us to do so as well.

I think you are absolutely right!
I've always appreciated your deep thoughts. Glad you got to spend some time with G. Wish we could talk more too!

that is so true. yet as the demands of life grow more and more, it seems ever harder to do...

I didn't think about it when I took the picture, but it came to me while thinking of something to write.

I guess Juliette Noona's Engineering take on it is also true. Iron returing back to it's original state. That would be a different analogy.

It is more difficult to keep things as prestine as they could be, especially living half way around the world. Family is hopefully one thing that does not rust away.

Well, I know one thing for sure. Our family bonds are strong and will last for all ages! :)
